As well as running the garage business Simon is also a rally driver, having competed in the National British championships, winning his class in the BTRDA Forest rally seasons in 2002 and 2004. He builds and prepares his own competition cars and also undertakes race and rally preparation for a number of other motor sport clients. Simon’s specialities are Mk1 and Mk2 Ford Escorts.
All aspects of race and rally preparation are undertaken including full race engine building and setting up cars for track and stage rallying including suspension, transmissions, safety features and any other modifications.
Previous projects include an engine and gearbox rebuild for a Lotus Elise race car and the build of 3 different Westfields to customer’s specifications. Simon has looked after various rally cars for many years ranging from Mk 1 and 2 escorts to a Peugeot 106, Escort Cosworth and an MGZR.
We also specialise in the renovation and repair of old cars from 1940s Willys Jeeps to Lotus Sunbeams, particularly 1970s, 80s and 90s vehicles.
